Gardaí are investigating a road traffic crash in which a man was killed in Co Kildare.
It happened at Kishawanny in Carbury between the hours of 12 midnight and 1.50pm Sunday.
The car involved was discovered in a drain off the R402, Carbury to Edenderry Road.
The man (18) was the only person in the car, and was pronounced dead at the scene.
His body was taken to Naas General Hospital, and a post mortem is to be arranged.
The road was closed for a time to facilitate Garda Forensic Collision Investigators, but has since reopened.
Gardaí are appealing for witnesses or anyone with information - particularly those who travelled the R402 between Carbury and Edenderry during the hours of 12 midnight and 2.00pm - to contact Leixlip garda station on 01-6667-800, the Garda Confidential Line at 1800-666-111 or any garda station.
