A 26 year old man remains in garda custody in Co Kildare, after the death of a 37 year old man in Celbridge.
Noel Winterlitch was found with head injuries at a house in Willowbrook Park last night, but Gardai say he may have sustained the injuries on Monday.
A post mortem on the dead man has been concluded but gardai say they're not disclosing the results for operational reasons.
The man who was arrested is being detained in Leixlip.
Gardaí were called to the incident at Willowbrook Park at 8.50pm following the discovery of a man with head injuries.
He was pronounced dead shortly before 10.30pm.
Gardaí are appealing for witnesses or anyone who was in the Willowbrook Park area of Celbridge to contact them at Leixlip garda station on 01-666-7800.
Superintendent Gerry Wall is appealing for information.
