The US Secretary of State says we are now closer than ever before to a ceasefire in Syria.
John Kerry says a provisional agreement has been reached with Russia on the terms of a peace deal.
A ceasefire was due to take hold on last Friday were dashed, but it collapsed amid increasing violence.
It comes as at least 57 people have been confirmed dead in a bombing in the city of Homs today and another 30 in Damascus.
Groups linked to the Islamic State have claimed responsibilities for the attacks.
The bombings in Homs and Damascus come as US and Russian leaders reach a provisional agreement on a peace deal for the war-torn state.
Earlier, Syria's president Bahsar al-Assad, said he was ready to agree to a ceasefire, as long as what he called "terrorists" do not exploit it.
He also said a number of issues need to be resolved.
Opposition forces in the country have also agreed to a temporary truce, but only if Russia stops its air strikes in support of President Assad.
Speaking earlier, Mr Kerry said he is more hopeful now of a lasting deal.
