With filming for the new series of Top Gear due to start shortly, Chris Evans and the BBC are rumoured to be closing in on a deal to bring Jodie Kidd on as co-host for the show.
According to The Sun, Kidd and Evans met up for a "secret lunch" where the details were apparently ironed out, and while The Daily Mail had been claiming that Jenson Button might be getting involved, it seems that Kidd is now the odds-on favourite for the role.
Evans has stated that he wants a female host for the show, which had previously been hosted by Jeremy Clarkson, James May and Richard Hammond, who have all since moved on to a new show with Amazon that is set to have a huge budget of apparently $6.9 million per show.
