The Taoiseach has welcomed the announcement of 125 new jobs in Dublin this morning.

100 of the new roles are at online advertising firm AdRoll - with 25 new positions also being created at Innovative Interfaces.

The IDA says today's announcements are a signal that the strategy of targeting early-stage tech companies is paying off.

AdRoll's total workforce in Ireland will now reach 220.

The Taoiseach says it is welcome news:

A leading director at AdRoll - which has announced 100 new jobs in Dublin today - says the company can be as much of an Irish success story as Google.

AdRoll's EMEA Director Marius Smyth says the company's future in Ireland could be every bit as successful as Google:

The firm has been supported by the Department of Jobs through IDA Ireland.

In March this year AdRoll announced it was moving to new office and revising upward hiring plans to 120. Expansion in Europe is due to growth of over 270% which, it says, has far exceeded expectations since the region's launch in 2013.

AdRoll says it has over 15,000 active advertisers worldwide.

It says the first phase of hiring is already ahead of schedule, with the first workers in place by the end of 2014.

CEO of AdRoll, Aaron Bell, explains what the company does and what they are looking for:

AdRoll will be doubling their Dublin office space to over 20,000 square-feet.

Meanwhile 'Innovative', a Californian firm that supplies library technology, is doubling its workforce in Dublin.

Innovative is hiring 25 new staff over the next 18 months.

The company established its European headquarters on George's Quay in Dublin in August 2012, where 25 people currently work in customer and technical support, software development, system analysis and finance.

Lord Mayor of Dublin Christy Burke says building on the relationship with US firms is a priority:

And, in Co. Monaghan, 20 new jobs have been created at a new Aldi store.

The German retailer Aldi says the new store means it now has a presence in every county, with 108 supermarkets in Ireland.

The Monaghan store is located on the Riverside Road in Carrickmacross.
