A date has been set for the inquest into the death of Jastine Valdez.

The 24-year-old student was abducted and murdered in Co Wicklow almost a year ago.

Jastine's parents Tess and Danny were present at the Coroner's Court in Dublin for this brief hearing.

Their daughter had taken a bus home to Enniskerry at around 6pm on May 19th last year when a witness saw her being bundled into a car.

Jastine's body was found around 48 hours later in woodland at Rathmichael, South Dublin.

A post-mortem gave the cause of death as asphyxia.

The man who abducted and killed her, Mark Hennessy, was shot dead by a garda.

His inquest has been adjourned pending an investigation into the shooting by the Garda watchdog body GSOC.

This morning, Inspector Frank Keenaghan of Bray Garda Station applied to the Deputy Coroner Dr Crona Gallagher for a date for hearing for Jastine's inquest.

A full hearing will now take place on November 4th this year.
