The Israeli Prime Minister has visited the construction site of a new fence along its border with Jordan.
Benjamin Netanyahu posted a video of his trip to his Youtube account yesterday.
Netanyahu flew to the southern Arava region on a military plane with his Defense Minister Moshe Ya'alon.
When speaking to reporters at the site, he alluded to the current refugee crisis as justification for the fence: "We are seeing today what happens to states that lose control of their borders”.
Left wing politicians, including Isaac Herzog, had called on the leader to accept more Syrian refugees, in recognition of the struggle Israel's own Jewish population endured during World War II.
But Netanyahu has argued that to do so would be to leave Israel exposed to terrorists.
