A young puppy who travelled by train from Kildare to Dublin this morning has been reunited with her owner.
The black dog with a white chest was being cared for by the Irish Rail Customer Information team in Heuston Station after alighted the train in Newbridge early this morning.
In a tweet, Ianród Éireann said: “Is this your dog?
“This little dog travelled by train from Newbridge early this morning and is now being cared for by our Customer Information team in Heuston Station until we find its owner.”
This afternoon the rail company said the young pup was homeward bound.
“Our lost dog is travelling home after being reunited with her owner who shared tales of how this little dog can scale walls and open doors.” it said.
“Hopefully today’s journey was the final Great Escape.”

Facebook user Sarah Behan said he “hopped on the 6:57am train to Heuston” this morning.
