A young Irishman who died in an accident in Norway has been named as Colm Johnson.

The 24-year-old who was from Bandon in Co. Cork lost his life when his kayak overturned during an adventure holiday on Monday.

He had been travelling with a group of friends.

He was reportedly due to return home today.

Preparations are being made for the repatriation of his remains.

The incident reportedly happened in the central Norwegian region of Vågå.
