Two Irish firms have signed multi-million euro contracts in France.
Tricel, a wastewater treatment systems manufacturer based in Killarney, Co Kerry, has agreed a deal with a sanitation and environmental products supplier in the Rhone Alps area. The company is already a market leader of solutions for the French wastewater industry.
Meanwhile the Cahir, Co Tipperary based Wood Energy Solutions - which manufactures biomass boilers and microCHP for both the domestic and commercial sectors - is expanding into mainland European markets through a distributor in France.
The combined contracts are worth in the region of €5 million and have been announced during the Taoiseach's visit to France.
Enda Kenny said, "France is Ireland’s sixth largest market for goods exports and our 5th largest for services exports, with nearly €10bn in total exports going from Ireland to France each year.
"As Tricel and Wood Energy Solutions have demonstrated, the opportunities for innovative Irish companies to do business in France are real and tangible. Companies like these will help drive Ireland’s jobs recovery, and I wish them, and their partners and customers, every success for the future,” he added.
