An Irish celebrity has gone on trial accused of engaging in sexual acts with an underage girl he met at the Oxegen Music Festival in 2010.

The complainant told the jury she was 16-year-old when she met the man; they kissed for a minute or two and afterwards they kept in touch by phone.

Initially, she told him she was 18 but she said she came clean that summer and thought he would block her.

However, she told the court he reached out a day or two later to ask if she could keep a secret; she told the jury she said ‘yes’ and they continued texting.

She claimed she performed oral sex on him on three occasions and the first time was allegedly in his workplace in Dublin city in late August 2010.

Afterwards, she said he would often call her late at night to talk about it;  according to her, the next time was in his home maybe a month or two later.

She claimed it happened for a third time when she called over to collect some concert tickets on December 14th 2010.

The prosecutor told the jury it is a criminal offence to perform such sexual acts on a child under the age of 17.

The man denies all the charges.
