An investigation is underway after a man died in what is believed to be a workplace accident in Co Mayo this morning.

Gardaí confirmed the man in his 20s died in the incident at a quarry near Kilkelly shortly before 10am this morning.

The Health & Safety Authority is sending an inspector to the scene, which has been sealed off to allow an inspection to get underway.
