A report given to the Justice Minister recommends major reform to Ireland's policing and justice systems.

The proposals have been put forward by the all party Justice committee in an effort to take politics out of policing in the wake of a number of controversies.

Members' suggestions include the establishment of a Criminal Justice Inspectorate to oversee the whole system.
