The second outlet - an 'Order & Collection Point' in Carrickmines - only opened in September 2016.

Ikea says bedroom furniture was the biggest area of growth here, with a 14% increase in sales.

Home decoration and lighting were the next most popular areas.

In total, the company now employs more than 700 people in Ireland.

Claudia Marshall, Ikea Ireland Market Manager, said: “Our commitment to improving accessibility continues to be a key focus for Ikea in Ireland."

On the subject of accessibility, she highlighted the Carrickmines store, investments in lowering delivery & product prices, and their newly launched online shop & delivery services.

"We are looking forward to seeing this digital part of our business grow over the coming years," she added.
