An Independent TD's calling for a "Tahrir Square moment" outside the Dáil in September.

Richard Boyd Barrett made the call as hundreds of people gathered on Kildare Street this evening to protest against austerity and banking bailouts.

Gardai were forced to close the road to traffic due to the size of the protest.
