On The Pat Kenny Show this morning Irish Independent Southern Correspondent Ralph Riegel said the remains were discovered under a concrete floor and behind a walled-up area under the stairwell in the house.

Forensic investigators are continuing to investigate the area and other parts of the house this afternoon.

It is understood that Gardaí reviewed the case file and ordered the fresh search after utility workers carrying out works on nearby drains came across something of concern and handed it in.

A second area just outside Youghal town has also been sealed off, where it is understood Gardaí removed some tools and machinery for analysis.

Youghal florist Kay Curtin told Newstalk there is “such a quiet feeling” around the town since the remains were discovered.

“There wasn’t a car passing or anything last night,” she said. “I think everyone was just talking amongst themselves.

“I went down myself with a few flowers. There was flowers there already and there was nobody down there it was just so quiet.

“There was a candle lighting in the window, it was just all so sad - the window next door - we just feel so sorry for the family.”

Tina was reported missing on March 24th, 2017, when she was 45 years old.

Gardaí followed hundreds of leads and took statements from well over 100 people; however, no sign of the Fermoy native were discovered until now.

Gardaí are continuing to urge anyone with any information on the case to contact them.
