Over 79,000 cigarettes as well as 667 litres of alcohol - including homemade alcohol - have been seized by Revenue Commissioners during the course of a Garda investigation.

1.25kg of tobacco was also seized throughout the course of a multi-agency operation at a location in North County Dublin on Sunday.

A checkpoint was also conducted on the R122, in which Customs officers and members of the North Divisional Roads Policing Unity made a number of detections, including the seizure of a vehicle and the arrest of an individual for drink driving offences.

A man in his 50s was arrested for money laundering offences but has since been released without charge.

Investigations are ongoing.
