Spend some time on photo-sharing app Instagram and you'll begin to notice more than a few similarities between the most popular posts.

Travel snaps, given the grainy filter treatment and accompanied by a vaguely new-age 'philosophical quotes' (generate your own here) seem to fit the like-baiting formula to a tee. A liberal sprinkling of hashtags and you're golden.  

Apparently enough users are fed up with this trend that a parody 'Hispter Barbie' account has rocketed in popularity.

'Socalitybarbie' sums herself up with terms like 'Adventurer,' 'Coffee Drinker' and 'Authentic Living,' while posting photos from her adventures in the great outdoors - with a cup of coffee never far at hand.
