Michael O’Connell, a six-year-old missing child, might be in Northern Ireland, An Garda Síochána have said. 

Michael was reported missing on Friday to Gardaí in Mulligar who say they are “concerned for his welfare”. 

He is believed to be in Northern Ireland or the general border region with adult relatives. 

He is 4ft tall and has black hair and blue eyes. 

Gardaí are interested in the location of vehicles with the following registration plates: 

• 151WH2454 Silver BMW 418
• 131WH1629 Blue Audi A4
• 00WH5417 Fiat Campervan
