Hailo has already successfully launched in Dublin, Galway and Cork, and now the company has announced via Twitter that Limerick taxi-seekers and taxi drivers will have access to the handy smartphone app.

Having launched in Dublin in 2012, and expanded to Galway and Cork in July of this year, Ireland has been central to Hailo's expansion plans. Of the thirteen cities currently covered, four are Irish. Other locations covered by the app include Tokyo, New York, Chicago, London, Toronto and Barcelona.
Hailo allows customers to order a taxi to their location, displays an estimated time of arrival and alerts the user when the taxi has arrived. It also allows either driver or passenger to contact the other if a problem arises. Customers can then pay via cash or credit card, and both the driver and passenger can 'rate' the other. The driver pays a small percentage of the fare to Hailo. The app is available on Android and iOS.
The service was launched in late 2011 in London, and its founders have managed to raise over €38 million in venture capital. They have also established an office in Dublin.
