The mental and physical well-being of children will be discussed during a special conference in Dublin today.
Early Childhood Ireland is hosting the event to develop strategies to help parents address a number of issues.
But, the group - which represents over 3,000 childcare professional members - is also criticising the governments capital funding scheme announced by the Children's Minister yesterday.
The programme will see €3m allocated for community childcare services, parent and toddler groups and childminders.
The CEO of Early Childhood Ireland, Teresa Heeney says the scheme excludes 70% of the sector.
