The Government has been urged to declare a national housing emergency.
The calls come as the body of a homeless man was discovered on Dawson Lane in Dublin yesterday morning.
It is believed he had been living rough for some time.
There is no suspicion of foul play and it is believed the man died suddenly.
Dawson Lane, where the man was discovered, is close to where the body of homeless man Jonathan Corrie was found in December 2014, and just several hundred metres from Leinster House.
The Peter McVerry Trust say four homeless people have died in Dublin over the past six weeks, and that many more will die if something is not done.
Pat Doyle, CEO of the charity, says a housing crisis needs to be declared as a matter of urgency:
The charity is also calling on members of the public to report locations of people they believe to be sleeping rough in Dublin on the Dublin Region Homeless Executive website.
