Members of the public have been asked not to share photos of a body found on Bower Beach in Balbriggan on Thursday. 

Gardaí described it as “not only disrespectful to the family” but also “unhelpful” to their investigation. 

It is understood the body is of a male in his 20s and Gardaí are trying to contact his family; they are also investigating the circumstances of his death.
