Gardai have seized heroin with an estimated value of €750,000 in Louth.

The drugs were seized by Gardai from the Garda National Drugs Unit and Organised Crime Unit, in a car at Castlebellingham on Monday at 10pm. The seizure was part of an ongoing operation into the illegal sale and supply of controlled drugs in the Leinster area.

A man, 38 years, was arrested at scene and is currently detained at Dundalk Garda Station under Section 2 of the Criminal Justice (Drug Trafficking) Act, 1996.
