Man arrested in connection with Welsh murder investigation appears in court in Galway

A man who was arrested in Galway in connection with a homicide investigation in the UK has been remanded in custody.

40-year-old David Ellis is wanted by Welsh police, who are expected to seek his extradition.

He is wanted for questioning in the UK about the murder of his landlord, 59-year-old retired telecoms engineer Alec Warburton, who went missing from his home in the town of Sketty on July 31st.

Mr Ellis was seen boarding a ferry from Birkenhead to Belfast on August 5th.

He was remanded to appear in Harristown District Court next Friday, after a special sitting of Galway District Court this morning.
