Gardaí have launched an appeal for information following a fatal road crash in Cork.

The two-car collision happened near Leemount Cross in Ballincollig at around 8.50pm yesterday evening.

A man in his 20s, who was a passenger in one of the cars, died at the scene.

Two other men in the same car - the driver and a passenger, both in their 20s - were seriously injured and are being treated at Cork University Hospital.

The occupants of the second car - two women aged in their late 20s and early 30s - received non life threatening injuries.
