Two Gardaí have suffered minor injuries after their patrol car was rammed in Co. Laois.

The incident occurred in Portarlington overnight at around 1am in the early hours of Wednesday on St Patrick's street.

The two have since been released from hospital.

A man was arrested in connection with the incident earlier and has since been released from custody. A file is being prepared for the DPP.
