Most areas will be staying dry again today - patchy frost mainly across the west and southwest to begin.  Winter sunshine should occur fairly widely over Munster, south Leinster and west Connacht.

It will start to brighten very gradually up in other areas too, but possibly staying dull for the day further north, with patchy drizzle. The cold is here to stay with highest temperatures of 6 to 8 degrees, in light southeast breezes.

It will be cold and dry tonight with long clear spells. A widespread sharp to severe frost will form, along with some icy patches, all in near calm.  Lowest air temperatures -4 to +2 degrees, coldest inland.
