Apart from a few showers, it will be mostly dry in midland and eastern areas this morning, but outbreaks of rain will spread across Munster, Connacht and west Ulster, becoming persistent and heavy there later this morning.
Rain will extend to remaining eastern areas this afternoon, but it may turn more showery this evening in some western counties. Top temperatures of 13 to 16 degrees Celsius, in a freshening southerly breeze this afternoon in southern and eastern areas.
Tonight
Further rain or showers tonight, with some heavy falls especially in southern and eastern areas and a risk of isolated thunderstorms for a while, but clearing before dawn. Overnight lows of 7 to 11 degrees Celsius.
Winds will be moderate to fresh southerly winds in southern and eastern areas but light in the west and northwest.
