Four people are being questioned at garda stations in Leitrim after reports of threats to kill a local businessman.

The four, all understood to be from Northern Ireland, were arrested yesterday afternoon in the Killeshandra area of Co Cavan, Shannonside reports.

Two are being questioned in Carrick on Shannon garda station and the other two are being held at Manorhamilton.

All four are detained under Section 4 of the Criminal Justice Act.

It's understood the threats to kill the Co Leitrim businessman were made yesterday.
