Four people have been killed after a small plane crashed near the Adirondack Mountains in New York.

The bodies of the four people have been located among the wreckage of the plane about half-mile northwest of the Adirondack Airport in Lake Clear.

Authorities had been notified of the downed plane last night.

The National Transportation Safety Board and Federal Aviation Administration are investigating.
