Flood defences are being put in place in Dublin this afternoon.
Dublin City Council crew are closing a number of flood gates due to heavy rain - as weather warning remains in place for eastern counties.
The affected areas are Clontarf, Merrion Gates, Sandymount Strand, and along the river Dodder.
According to Met Éireann, southern parts of Munster and Leinster are likely to have rainfall accumulations of 25-45mm during Monday.
Southern and eastern coasts will be subject to strong, southeasterly winds throughout the day also.
High tide is expected to reach it's peak at about 10.30 tonight.
