However, that will has now been pushed to July 20th due to concerns over a rise in travel-related coronavirus cases.

Taoiseach disappointed he wasn’t told about Cowen driving ban

The Taoiseach says he's "disappointed" that he only found out yesterday about a driving ban served by Agriculture Minister Barry Cowen several years ago.

It has emerged Minister Cowen was stopped at a Garda checkpoint in 2016 on his way home to Offaly, after he attended the All-Ireland Football Final in Dublin.

The Irish Independent reports he was found to be over the limit and received a €200 euro fine and was disqualified from driving for three months.

Minister Cowen has said he is 'profoundly sorry' about the incident.

Kelleher apologises for failure to self-isolate

Fianna Fáil MEP Billy Kelleher has apologised after failing to self-isolate for 14-days after arriving in Ireland.

Mr Kelleher travelled from Brussels last Friday, ahead of the election of Micheál Martin as Taoiseach in Dublin the following day.

The Ireland South MEP attended Mr Martin's election but has now acknowledged he didn't self-isolate beforehand.

In a statement, he said: "As I previously stated, I avail of COVID-19 testing services before in advance of departing Brussels in order to reduce any potential public health risk.
