Five people are appearing in court this evening in connection with suspected dissident republican activity.

The four men and one woman - aged between their early 40s and late 60s - were arrested on Saturday in Dublin 15 and are being held at a number of stations across the region.

Gardaí say three of those arrested have addresses in Belfast and all five will appear before the Special Criminal Court.
