3 teenagers and 2 juveniles have been arrested following a high-speed car chase in Dublin and Kildare. A 'stinger' device was used to stop the car on the M4 near Kilcock.

The 3 teenagers will appear in court next month.

This incident began just before 2am this morning when a silver Ford Mondeo was pursued by Gardai after it failed to stop close to Newcastle in Co. Dublin. The Garda helicopter was scrambled to monitor the car as it was driven at high speed along the M4.

The 5 occupants - 3 male teenagers and 2 juveniles - were arrested and brought to Leixlip Garda station. 3 of the youths were later charged and released on bail to appear before Kilcock District Court on May 21st.

The 2 juveniles will be cautioned under the Juvenile Deferral System.
