Shorts, t-shirts and shades are being dusted off across Ireland today, as the country basks in its first decent spell of warm, sunny weather in what seems like an eternity.

Temperatures have risen to a fairly respectable 16 or 17 degrees today, with light winds.

Tomorrow, Thursday, will be mostly dry too, with some hazy sunshine forecast by Met Éireann, especially in the northern half of the country. Clouds and occasional coastal showers may dim the sunshine somewhat in the south, but highs of 13-16 degrees are still forecast.

Friday is forecast for some mostly dry weather, with temperatures of 10 to 15 degrees and moderate to fresh winds.

Make the most of it while it lasts, though - it's due to become cold again at the weekend and early next week.
