Two guns have been seized by gardaí in Finglas in Dublin.

It came as part of ongoing operations targeting criminality in the area.

Officers discovered the weapons when they seized and searched two parked cars yesterday.

In one of the cars they found a single barrel sawn-off shotgun, along with a .22 pistol and four rounds of ammo.

The guns have been taken for ballistic and forensic examinations.

Gardaí say no arrests have were made during this phase of the investigation, adding that their enquiries are ongoing.
