RTÉ has reportedly refused one-third of the Freedom of Information (FOI) requests submitted to it in the first half of the year, according to new figures.

Among those refused was a query about how much Katie Hopkins was paid to go on 'The Late Late Show', details on costs and voting patterns on 'Dancing With The Stars' and questions over why it is still broadcasting the Angelus.

The State broadcaster turned down 37 out of a total of 108 requests from applicants - this included journalists, members of the public and elected representatives.

The Irish Examiner says an application seeking information about whether Louis Walsh was paid for his role in Ireland's entry to Eurovision 2017 was also denied.

While requests for details of correspondence between the broadcaster and the National Asset Management Agency (NAMA) between 2015 and 2017 were also refused.
