There are fears for 96 jobs as PopCap Games has confirmed it has begun an ‘evaluation review’ of its Dublin office.

The move comes as parent firm Electronic Aarts (EA) implemented a restructuring plan for the firm.

It purchased the company a year ago.

In a statement issued last night IDA Ireland said it is in discussions with the company about alternative future employment projects.

Dylan Collins is an online gaming entrepeneur.

He says the gaming industry is thriving in Ireland and this restructuring is due to pressures at EA rather than at PopCap.

He spoke with Breakfast here on Newstalk.
