The father of a Palestinian toddler killed in an arson attack on his home a week ago has died of his injuries.

Saad Dawabsheh, the father of Ali, died early on Saturday, reports Al Jazeera.

Suspected Israeli Jewish extremists torched the house in the West Bank last Friday, killing his 18-month-old child and seriously injuring his wife and a second son.

Israel's prime minister has described the act as terrorism.

On Monday the country's security cabinet approved the detention without trial of Jewish terror suspects, which was previously only legal when applied to Palestinians.
