Scattered showers in the west and northwest this morning but largely dry elsewhere with sunny spells.

Showers will become fairly widespread across the country this afternoon with a few heavy downpours possible.

Highest temperatures of 15 to 18 degrees in moderate to fresh southwest breezes.

Tonight

Showers will gradually become confined to western and northern coastal counties overnight with long clear spells developing elsewhere.

Minimum temperatures of 6 to 9 degrees in light or moderate southwest winds.
