There has been a large explosion at a US military facility in Japan.

Video footage shows flames and billowing smoke rising from the site, with a series of further smaller blasts.

Firefighters are at the scene in Sagamihara, about 25 miles south-west of Tokyo.

The base is believed to store fuel and ammunition.

No injuries have been reported so far.
