More tests planned on former Mother and Baby Home site in Tuam

The Department of Children says further geophysical surveys are to take place on the site of a former Mother and Baby Home in Tuam.

It has published its first monthly update on the homes.

Minister Katherine Zappone invited former residents and their supporters to participate in a consultation process.

The jackpot is worth €28.9m.

The numbers drawn were 11, 20, 35, 37, 45 and the Lucky Stars were 3 and 6.

Republic of Ireland footballer Jeff Hendirck has been found not guilty of violent disorder.

He had been accused of pulling a man out of a taxi near Krystle nightclub in Dublin almost four years ago.

However, his friend and co-accused has been found guilty.

Report finds alcohol bill will have "serious consequences" for Irish media

Advertising restrictions included in the Government's new public health legislation on alcohol will have serious consequences for the Irish media industry, according to a new report.

The Public Health (Alcohol) Bill 2015 seeks to introduce widespread restrictions on the advertising of alcohol in Ireland.

The bill, in its current form, would make it an offence for more than 20% of advertising space in a publication to go towards alcohol products.
