Meteor and Eir customers left without service following "major fibre break"

A number of Meteor customers were left without service after “a major fibre break”, according to parent company Eir.

There was also disruption to phone and broadband service for 4,000 fixed line customers in the Leinster region.

The incident occurred near Passage East in Co. Waterford and has left customers experiencing difficulties with top ups, MMS services and data.

The HSE says it 'deeply regrets any distress' caused by problems diagnosing cancers at Wexford General Hospital.

A leaked review of 600 patients' bowel screenings at the hospital has found around 12 cases of cancer were missed by tests between 2013 and 2014.

It follows a recall of patients who had undergone screening at the facility.
