In case you've been living under a rock since some time in the middle of the week, you may have noticed that Electric Picnic is on in Stradbally this weekend.
If you weren't able to get a ticket to join your friends or couldn't get down to experience it first hand, fear not, as there was plenty of content on social media to keep you in the loop on what you were missing out on during the first day of the festival.
There was plenty for the crowds to enjoy on Friday night as The Chemical Brothers took to the stage to kick the whole event off in style, while Irish act All Tvvins were also a huge draw, having released their album IIVV in June.
Chemical Brothers were LIT too 🔥 #electricpicnic

One of the highlights of the night was the RTÉ Concert Orchestra performing some classic dance tunes with Jenny Greene, truly a unique combination that already has many claiming that it will be the highlight of the festival.

Of course, this wouldn't be the first time that there was a concert orchestra at a music festival...

Fans young and old were enjoying the tunes across all the tents and gigs yesterday.

Unfortunately, the weather has taken a bit of a turn on Saturday, and all the people who were expressing their sever FOMO at not making it to the festival have changed their minds rather quickly...as well as a few who are there.

Don't worry though, if you are in Laois and trying your best to avoid getting your feet wet, then head along to the Newstalk Lounge in the Mindfield Arena where there's plenty happening both on air and online. It's warm, dry, and there's plenty of fun and great chat to keep you entertained.
