An elderly woman who was murdered in Dublin this morning has been named locally as Mary Bergin.
She was found dead at a house on Seville Place at around 11:50am this morning.
She was found with severe injuries and a post-mortem is due to be carried out today.

A woman, aged in her 40s, has been arrested on suspicion of murder and taken to Store Street Garda Station.
She is known to the victim.
She can be held for up to 24 hours.
The scene has been sealed off while gardaí carry out a forensic examination.
Gardaí are appealing to anyone with any information on the incident to come forward.
The investigation is ongoing.
