There's a tight race to be the new president of the Irish Farmers Association, according to an Agriland.ie poll.

A poll of farmers shows 43% are in favour of Joe Healy becoming the next President, with 38% supporting Henry Burns.

The third candidate Flor McCarthy is on 19% support ahead of tomorrow's vote count.

Margaret Donnelly, editor of Agriland, says that farm income and transparency were key issues in this election: "There were two things that really came across: Farm incomes are a huge concern for farming communities right across the country. The other [...]  is transparency within the IFA. And that's what brought about this presidental election in the IFA, the lack of transparency around salaries and pay within the organisation. They're two big things that the next President will have to deal with."
