Early Childhood Ireland says today's announcement of 2.75 million euro to improve childcare facilities across Ireland is welcome news but the group says it is not "new" investment.
Frances Fitzgerald says the funds will improve the quality of early childhood care and will go towards equipment, maintenance, improving disabled access - and providing outdoor spaces for play areas.
But, the group says additional funding into the sector is needed and today's announcement is not a 'new' investment stream.
