A man who was detained in connection with a shooting incident in Dublin on Friday night has been released from custody.

A man aged in his 30s was shot in the leg as he drove his moped on the Cleggan Road in Ballyfermot.

His young daughter was with him at the time.

He was taken for treatment to St James's Hospital, but his injuries are not thought to be life threatening.

The man who was arrested has been released without charge, and a file will be prepared for the Director of Public Prosecutions (DPP).
