Trump was pretty clear that, in the aftermath of his appearance on the debate hosted by Fox earlier this month, he was the main attraction and brought record-breaking ratings.

While he's a very divisive figure, he has been polling extremely well and given the fact that no one seems to be sure exactly what he's going to say next, his speeches make for some great television.

With that in mind, he told Time in a feature interview with the magazine about his campaign that he would demand a pretty hefty fee to appear at CNN's debate between the candidates.

He stated that the figure he'd want would be $10 million, but that he wanted it to go to charity, rather than to him:

"Here's my question: So if I go to CNN and I say, Look, you're going to have a massive audience, and if I say to them, I want $10 million for charity, nothing for myself, what happens? I'm not showing up, right?" he says. It's a rhetorical question, the wheels of entrepreneurship are turning, the joy of being Trump dancing on his face. "I'm not showing up unless you give $10 million to cancer, to this, to that. You pick 10 great charities, $1 million per."

The figures from Fox's debate suggest that Trump can make good on his promise of getting ratings, as it was the most-watched political debate ever, with 24 million people tuning in.

The debate takes place on September 16th, so there's still time for a deal to be struck between the two.
